Jeewamali Konara

Jeewamali Konara lives in Dambagalla in the Monaragala District. She entered the University of Peradeniya in 2006 to follow a 4 year special degree in Economics. She did extremely well while in university and consistently achieved very high grades.
Her ambition was to become a university lecturer at the same university but she was not successful due to intense competition for places. Currently she has applied for a job as a teacher in a government school.
Update: Jeewamali has had the opportunity to meet Mr. Hein Kolk on a few occasions at the Plan country office. She greatly appreciates the help she received from the scholarship fund in helping her to achieve her dream of getting a university education. She hopes the fund continues to provide financial assistance to students from disadvantaged communities.
