P. Muthunayake lost her father years ago, and her mother has had to educate her two children – a son and daughter, with the income from daily wages, which is insufficient to support her in university.
Ms. Muthunayake was educated at Ibbagamuwa Central College in Kurunegala, and obtained two ‘A’ grades in Physics and Chemistry and a ‘B’ grade in Biology which earned her a place in the Medical Faculty of the University of Kelanyia where she is studying to become a doctor.
As the course in medicine is highly competitive, it is considered a privilege to have secured entrance to this course.
As the Hein Kolk Scholarship Fund is made available to students who have achieved good results in school, she is thankful to both Mr Hein Kolk and Plan for giving her this opportunity to assist her financially, so she can continue her education.
Update: P. Muthunayake, she is studying on the Medical Faculty at the University of Kelanyia. She passed the 1st and the 2nd year and she completed the Semester Exam with good results.
