Rasika Weerakoon

Rasika Weerakoon comes from a family where the mother is a laborer – the sole breadwinner, while the father suffers from a chronic illness and is unfortunately unemployable.
She was educated at Malwathawela School in Wellawaya, a Plan Program area. She is studying Mass Communication at the University of Colombo.
Having to move to live in Colombo which is very far from her village of Weerasevanawattha was not easy, but Rasika knows her education is important for her future.
Update: Rasika Weerakoon, lives in Wellawaya of Sri Lanka. She has completed her University degree in Mas Communication & Education at the University of Colombo. After her graduation, she was so fortunate to have an appointment as a school teacher in Weheraya Government School which is close to her home. She is so proud with her teaching job. She teaches the local language|Shinhal for the classes of grade 6 to 9 in the school. Rasika reached her ambitious and it is a great opportunity for her to serve the younger generation of her own community.
