Sunethra Kumari comes from a farming family, and has three sisters and a brother.
With her Advanced Level examination results, she was able to obtain admission to the University of Kelaniya, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Leaving her family in the village of Dhambagasella in Wellawaya has not been easy for Sunethra, but with the Hein Kolk scholarship, she is encouraged to continue her education and secure a better future for herself as well as her family.
Update: Sunethra Kumari studied 4th years of Science of Arts at the University of Kelaniya. She completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree with very good results. She always remembers the support given to her by the Hein Kolk Scholarship program with gratitude as it enabled her to achieve her dream of getting a university education and of getting a good job.
